Budget Hearing and Special Town Meeting Minutes

November 17, 2003

 

Chair Breunig called the public hearing to order. In attendance were Supervisors Oberle, Acker, Shaw and Irvine Administrator Mueller, Attorney Voss, Treasurer Wills and eight residents (Doug Normington, John and Ruth Koberle, Gregg Hinckley, Victoria Oberle, Gary Whitney, Wayne Rounds and John Neumann)
  1. Proof of Publication & Posting-Administrator/Clerk Mueller stated that the meeting notice was published, posted physically and to the website and e-mailed to the Town’s list.

  2. Presentation of Proposed 2004 General and Debt Service Budgets
    Mueller presented the proposed general and debt service budgets and commented that do to reductions in the assessed values after the budget was prepared that the levy at the recommended $2.05 per $1,000 would be approximately $14,000 less than originally budgeted.

    Moved and seconded by Breunig and Acker to close the public hearing. Motion carried at 6:39 p.m.

Call Special Town Meeting to Order-Chair Breunig called the Special Town Meeting to order.

  1. Proof of Publication of Notice- Administrator/Clerk Mueller stated that the meeting notice was published, posted physically and to the website and e-mailed to the Town’s list.
     
  2. Adoption of the 2003 Tax Mill Rate and the 2004 Road Maintenance Budget
    Moved and seconded by Irvine and Breunig to set the mill rate at $2.07/$1,000 of assessed valuation. Motion carried.

    Moved and seconded by Irvine and Oberle to establish the Road Maintenance Budget at $548,280 plus the amount of unexpended road improvement monies from the 2003 Budget plus the amount necessary to rebuild the Low Road Bridge (90% of the base cost of which will be reimbursed). Motion carried.
     
  3. Adjourn
    Moved and seconded by Irvine and Breunig to adjourn. Motion carried at 6:53 p.m.

The minutes are subject to amendment prior to or at the next Annual Meeting, April 13, 2004.
